Roar For Tony & ALL Tigers on Tiger Day – Sunday September 26, 2010

Tiger Day is September 26, 2010. This special day was started by The Phoenix Fund, a Russian non-governmental organization and is sponsored by Save The Tiger Fund and other international donors.

It’s a day to raise awareness of the critically endangered state of wild tigers. Recent estimations put the wild tiger population at 3,200, a decline of 95% since the turn of the century. Poaching, human-tiger conflict, loss of habitat and prey are the main threats to tigers.

Bush Warriors has Tiger Day logos you can use to show your support at: http://bushwarriors.wordpress.com/2010/09/23/celebrate-world-tiger-day-with-us-this-sunday-september-26th/ They encourage the logo to be used as your Facebook profile pic or anywhere else to raise awareness of Tiger Days and tigers. More color choices at the link.

There are more captive tigers in the United States than left in the wild; Tony is just one of thousands and one will never give up fighting for.

Please visit the links in this note to learn more about what you can do to help wild tigers and if you haven’t done so already sign Tony’s petition at: http://tinyurl.com/ldwfnopertts

The permit to Tony’s owner was issued on December 14, 2009 – this is an annual permit so please voice your concerns against its renewal by writing to the following individuals:
