  1. Shame, shame, shame…….. if someone has to rely on a caged tiger to get business, it should say something to the patrons of that business. How would you like to be caged for 10 years………. without contact from your ‘own’ kind…… please speak up citizens of Louisiana…. get to your legislatures, governor… stop this insane treatment of wild animals for monetary gain……

  2. I have written to the Fred Kimmel, Robert Barham, Governor Bobby Jindal,,,,, and also to President Barack Obama on a few occasions and I am still waiting for a response to my emails.

I have told them all about the transport cage that has appeared in Tony’s cage and want to know where they are taking him, and I have also pointed out that if he is removed from Louisiana and taken across state lines then this is illegal.

If I have to sent an email to each of these people every day then I will. Why cant we get any answers.

Perhaps Michael Sandlin is a powerful man and is able to twist people around his little finger? How much money is passing hands every year for him to keep getting a licence to keep Tony.

No animal deserves this treatment. He has been caged for 11 years and is alone and obviously depressed. He paces up and down all day and breathes in fumes – when is enough enough?

Will Tony be another trophy for Michael Sandlin and end up stuffed above his bar with the other tiger that he has mounted on the wall? I hope not.

What human would like to live in these conditions day after day breathing in gas fumes with nothing to do and no-one for company for 11 years. Perhaps Michael Sandlin would like to try it for a while and let us know how he likes it…

I will roar for Tony everyday until we get him out of that cage and rehomed somewhere more suitable.

Be strong Tony – we are coming xxx

  3. It is shamefull that the state mof Louisiana has given a permit to keep this poor animal in a small cage on concrete at a truck stop. This smacks of corruption-someone’s taking abribe.

  4. I have just posted this on the fb page for Louisana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries … please go and take a look and add your comments.

I am curious to know why the owner of Tony is able to get a licence year after year and is able to house a tiger in a cage as a freakshow. Surely a gas station does not need to provide an “attraction” to bring customers in. I would have thought that people must fill up their trucks and other vehicles with gas anyway and would stop for some food at the same time, does there really need to be a wild animal on show as well? Keeping an animal in this environment is not good for his health and after 10 years of being on show doesnt Tony now deserve to be retired to a big cat sanctuary? Does Tony’s owner have some kind of hold on the powers that be which allows him to get a licence every time the old one runs out?

  6. I am shocked and outraged that the permit to keep Tony has been renewed. All I can say is that somone must be being bribed. If it were a dog or a house cat in that cage,
people would be furious and this wouldn’t be allowed.
Whatever the reason the permit has been renewed, it’s rediculous. I feel very badly for Tony because he may only be at peace in death. Tigers are not pets and they don’t belong at truck stops.

  7. Tony Being Licensed To Yet ANOTHER Year At That HELLHOLE Is PROOF Positive: Louisiana IS The MOST CORRUPT State In The Union!

  8. What can one say about this outcome other then i am lost for words and cannot say what i really would like to as i would be banned of fb as my words would be that strong and outragoius at the result of these findings – how on earth would they like to spend their lives in a cage i am soooooooooo angry at this and i do hope you know what you have done to this awesome creature of Nature and may you know the cosequences of your actions. i dont know how you sleep at night and im am sure your CONSCIENCE is not at rest

  9. It is a Shame that Wild Animals has to be caged up for show and Tell. All wild animals should be in their own invirement and NOT for this purpose at all.But the owner will learn the hardway one way or another. And when it does happen hope theirs really not a Bad deal on the Tigers part.Cause it’s Not the Tony’s Fault that he is where he is right know.I guess the owner does not have a Heart at all he is very CRUEL keeping him in their like that.

  10. That is very bad.Shame on LDWF,Michael Sandlin and his Louisiana authorities patronage.America,America how can you speak about somebody rights ? Shame on you…

  11. Confinement of animals other than for medical reasons is barbaric and cruel. Please find it in your heart to think about what is right for all beings.
