The Wildcat Sanctuary Offers Home For Tony 4.16.2011   1 comment

Posted on The Wildcat Sanctuary’s Facebook and Twitter: “The Wildcat Sanctuary has offered sanctuary to Tony if he is ever seized or if the owner decides to place him.”

From The Wildcat Sanctuary’s website:

Our Mission

Provide a natural sanctuary to wildcats in need and inspire change to end the captive wildlife crisis.

Our Vision

Help create a world where animal sanctuaries are no longer needed.

Who we are

The Wildcat Sanctuary (TWS) is a 501c3 non-profit, no-kill big cat rescue located in Sandstone, MN.  TWS provides a natural sanctuary to wild cats in need and inspires change to end the captive wildlife crisis.  TWS is funded solely on private donations.  The Sanctuary is a home for animals, not a zoo for people and is not open to the public.  Combining natural and spacious habitats with a life free of exhibition and exploitation, TWS allows all residents to live wild at heart.

  1. This is of course how all wildlife sanctuaries ought to be: free from human interference (then again, the fact that sanctuaries are needed at all is a sad reflection of human destructiveness, greed and thoughtlessness – not to mention our woeful inability to manage even our OWN species species!)
I hope all animal-lovers have seriously considered being vegan (if they aren’t already) – not just in diet, which is so unbelievably easy and NOT a sacrifice at all, but also in finding/using alternatives to animal abuse in ALL industries. That’s a long & sickening list in itself. But non-animal/ sustainable methods and products can be found and used in every industry – it’s up to US to create the demand!
Sounds exhausting, if not impossible, right? For inspiration, look no further than Bolivia and their legislation giving rights to Nature!
And for Tony the tiger, TWS is providing inspiration and hope for a happy retirement…
    All the best!
