smitty ftt shirtDo you follow “Tony” @TonyTiger2000 on Twitter? If you do, you probably know Tony’s Little Buddy, Smitty @IAmSmittyKitty.

Smitty was kind enough to share this great picture of himself and his guardian’s Free Tony shirt from FLOAT.

Thanks Smitty for your wonderful support and friendship…and thanks to all of Tony’s friends for participating in the FLOAT ( For Love of All Things ) Free Tony” campaign that raised awareness and support for Tony and The Animal Legal Defense Fund’s fight to free Tony from the truck stop.

Posted today on The Animal Legal Defense Fund’s Facebook page:

Our hearing to argue for Tony’s immediate release has been postponed due to a request by the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries. We will keep you posted once a new date has been scheduled. Please continue to sign ALDF’s petition to help free Tony!

Also on the ALDF website:

June 14, 2011: The hearing scheduled for June 14 has been postponed to a later date yet to be determined. The hearing was continued to provide the Department an opportunity to conduct discovery, an essential stage of the litigation process.

Thanks again to Ian Somerhalder for his shout outs for Tony today and to all of Ian’s (and Tony’s) Twitter friends for their support as well.

At the recent EyeCon convention Tony was also mentioned in Ian’s Q&A session by a member in the audience and acknowledged with a “Free Tony” from Ian. Part 1 of Ian’s’ Q&A can be viewed at the end of this post. Pay special attention around 6:50.

Because of Ian ( #BecauseofIan ) more people have come to learn about this beautiful tiger who has been kept for 10 long years as a roadside attraction in the unnatural and unhealthy environment of a truck stop. Raising awareness for Tony is very important because it keeps Tony’s story active while continuing to work towards a proper home for him. Easy ways to network for Tony:

Share the links to his Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, and WordPress pages and Big Cat Rescue’s (Tampa FL) FreeTony, etc. on social networking sites. If you have a blog consider a post about Tony or adding some of Tony’s links to your blogroll. Another great way to get the word out about Tony is to add some or all of these links to the signature block of your outgoing emails. You’ll be letting people know about Tony with each email you send. Visit Tony’s take Action page for more info:
