We are very appreciative of the recent decision on November 2, 2011 by Judge R. Michael Caldwell who ordered the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries to revoke the current permit and prohibited them from issuing any new permits to the Tiger Truck Stop.

While we wait for updates, Tony still remains at the truck stop – and it is important for us to maintain our advocacy on his behalf for his release to an accredited, reputable and humane big cat sanctuary and to keep his story highly visible.

How You Can Help Tony

  • Voice your concerns for Tony to The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries for his release to a reputable, established, humane accredited big cat sanctuary that will meet all of his needs.

It’s very important that all correspondence for Tony be done in a respectable focused manner. While we are all very passionate and concerned about Tony, his health and welfare, please remember polite and focused letters have a better chance of being addressed and our concerns taken seriously. When you advocate for Tony, you are representing him – he deserves the utmost respect as do the individual(s) we are writing to.

  1. Thank You Animal Legal Defense Fund ~ God Bless you for your commitment, and your Heart!

  2. I am dismayed to hear that Sandlin is appealing the decision; this only prolongs Tony’s time in his concrete cell. I was really hoping he would go to one of the big cat sanctuaries at the end of the month. Will continue to advocate for Tony until he is free!

  3. Lets hope he is out of that cage soon. How cruel we humans are, It makes me sick to see what we humans do to our animals.

  4. Poor Tony!! I have been following his story from the beginning, why on earth is this taking so long to free him,how can anyone who sees him in that cage think that this is okay? This MAGESTIC ENDANGERED MAGNIFICENT animal belongs in a sanctuary where he can roam free, free from noise, fumes, taunting people, free to live out the rest of his days like the beautiful tiger he is.

  5. Does Tony’s owner really think this poor tiger is happy? Tony is not a toy and he should stop playing with him. It is time for Tony to finally be happy at a santuary. Let’s not waste any more time

  6. Let this magnificent animal go, i would stuff the ownwer in a the cage and throw away the key, the way we humans treat some animals is just appaling, we think we have an aboslute right to do anything on this planet to anything, when we are finally gone and the planet is on its knees, maybe then it and the animals left may have a chance to survive, we homo sapiens are the most destructive and pernicious species every to evolve and we are and have made a mess of nearly everything. Good luck when Tony is finally free to roam around again.
